Frequently Asked Questions about the Colson Fellows Program

Thinking About Applying to the Colson Fellows Program?

If you're considering applying for the Colson Fellows Program, we're so glad you're here and are praying for you in this decision! The Colson Fellows Program has a twenty-year track record for providing world-class worldview education, and we'd love for you to join the upcoming class. The program guides participants through a carefully curated journey over four modules:

  • Understanding and Identifying Worldviews
  • Understanding Culture and the Church’s responsibilities
  • Cultural Flashpoints (i.e., hot-button issues like sexuality, race, justice, life, politics, etc.)
  • Calling and Personal Mission Plan

The Colson Fellows Program aims to equip you to live like a Christian right where God has called you by teaching you to see the world as He sees it. The result? A courageous faith that shows up in all areas of life.

This may sound fascinating to you, but you likely have questions about the specifics of the program. To help you, we've compiled some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from interested applicants. If you have further questions that aren't addressed here, we encourage you to sign up for one of our upcoming live informational webinars, where you can participate in a live Q&A with our Vice President and Dean of the Colson Fellowship, S. Michael Craven.

How long is the program?

In 2025, the program will begin on August 1 and conclude with the Fellows commissioning at the Colson Center National Conference in May 2026.

How much time does the program take?

On average, 10-12 hours per week. This depends largely on your reading speed. Here is a general breakdown of the workload:

  • Reading: Just over one book per month

  • Monthly: Between one and two 60-minute webinars

I work full-time. Can I still be involved?

Most of the Fellows participants do work full-time! It is up to you to determine if you can fulfill the requirements. All participants who also work full-time have found creative ways to prioritize the program, and they say it's well worth it! Check out these inspiring stories of graduated Colson Fellows who completed the program on top of rigorous careers, busy parenting seasons, and more:

How rigorous is the program?

The Colson Fellows Program is designed for adult learners, regardless of academic background.

For example, Alison is a mom and teacher who worried about the intellectual demands of the Colson Fellows, yet experienced an encouraging atmosphere and profound growth in the program. Read her story HERE

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $900. Additional expenses include books and materials (around $200), and optional costs for attending the Colson Center National Conference if you choose to do so. Some scholarships are available, as well as a payment plan. Please e-mail colsonfellows@colsoncenter.org for more information.
